Joe has painted this image of a budjiked (pussycat) and doddorok (rock pigeons) surrounded by mud mussels and seeds. There are lots of budjiked on our lands these days. Children love playing with tame cats. Cats kill animals like snakes and skinks and lots of other things. Some they eat, some like snakes they just kill and leave. In the old days when people went hunting in the forest and saw a cat in a tree, they would kill it and eat it. We don’t eat cats these days though.
