We just hit the launch button on Get It On! 2018 – a participatory event that celebrates and showcases our hand-printed Aboriginal designed fabric. Would-be participants have been invited to submit EOIs and from that we’ll choose 40 to give fabric to. Once completed the creations are sent back and put on exhibition from June – August at Aboriginal Bush Traders in Darwin. Every participant receives a credit voucher for participating PLUS the chance to win a prize in more than 10 categories. You can visit our Get It On! 2018 event page to learn more and keep updated. The inaugural event #getiton2017 was an outstanding success and exceeded our expectations by a mile. More than 40 participants from around Australia plus Italy, India, Timor Leste and the USA created more than 200 items. The awards night was a blast and everyone attending (more than 150 people) was encouraged to wear clothing made from any hand-printed Aboriginal designed fabric! Most of them did!! You can see our facebook album of the 2017 event here. To follow the event and the activities of the creators #getiton2018
Another thing – we got a lovely little boost from our facebook mates Northern Territory – Australia’s Outback when they shared a video of our ladies printing on fabric. So far it’s had 168K views and climbing. Enjoy.
PS: Injalak Arts re-opens on 29.1.18
