Wak Djang (Crow Dreaming)
Wak Djang (Crow Dreaming)
$300.00
This is a Dreaming from Kurruldul. The Dreaming site is in a river. Wak, the Crow, became a rock under the water there in the creation time. There is a hole in the top of the rock, which is represented by the concentric circles at the centre of this painting. The surface of the rock (kunbad) is represented by the rarrk (hatching) pattern surrounding the circular motif, and the river is represented by the flowing lines at the top and bottom of the bark. Bubbles can be seen rising to the surface of the water, which indicate the presence of the Dreaming.
