Discover the ancient art of weaving at our Traditional Weaving Workshop, part of Injalak Arts & Crafts takeover at Laundry Gallery.
In collaborate with Darwin Street Art Festival and Laundry Gallery, this immersive three-hour experience invites you to explore the intricate art of weaving alongside Kunwinjku artisans from West Arnhem Land. Under the guidance of local Daluk (Women), you’ll learn a variety of ancient weaving techniques and craft your own piece of woven jewellery.
As you weave with local pandanus fibres, harvested and hand-dyed by the Daluk, you’ll delve into the rich cultural heritage and deep connection to Country that underpins this ancient practice.
