Nganabbarru (buffalo) are big, dangerous creatures. They were imported on ships and spread throughout the Northern Territory. There used to be big populations of buffalo around Gunbalanya, we would see them out on the floodplain. If we went into the forest, we would often see them by rivers or swimming in waterholes.
