Mimih spirits are original spirit beings. According to the Kunwinjku people of western Arnhem land they existed before humans and subsequently taught the first bininj (Aboriginal people) ceremonies, dance, song, hunting and most bush skills.
In this print a mimih is hunting kinga (saltwater crocodile). Kinga is an important totem and food source in Western Arnhem Land.
